Your Dues include future news letters from our Chapter and mailings from the Pennsylvania State Chapter with a ballot and voting privilege on State Chapter nomination candidates. Also as a South Central Chapter member you will receive discounts on Chapter dinners and induction banquets events as well as the ability to summit applications for inductees in the Chapter.

Chapter President Darwin Breaux and the Executive Committee have decided  to work on a reorganization of the Chapter and make changes and improvements for the future. As part of that change, the induction Banquet of 2020 was moved into the second quarter of this year. New applications for inductions will be received into the fall of 2021.

Our Chapter membership continues to grow and serve Athletics in the South Central area with the Executive Committee focused on improvements for the future.  Please feel free to share our website and this newsletter with your friends and neighbors.

HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2020/2021—PRESS RELEASE

The South Central Chapter Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame announced its annual induction dinner and 2020/2021 class of inductees.

Darwin Breaux, the new president has announced that any members interested in helping with the Chapter going forward can contact him at (717)382-2854 or email at breaux@dickinson.edu.

This year’s induction dinner will be held Saturday, November 6,2021 at the Elks Club, 120 West Ridge Street, Carlisle, PA 17013. Social hour is from 5:30-6:30pm hour and dinner at 6:30pm.

Dr. Timothy M. Ebersole

Tim was honored as one of Shippensburg Universities’ 10 individual selected to PSAC’s 150 Football contributors. A native of York, PA, Ebersole was the 1981 PSAC and eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the year and Quarterbacked the Shippensburg University raid Raiders to the national semifinals. He was a two-time honorable mention All-American breaking 31 school records and finishing with 4,658 passing yards and 45 touchdowns. Tim has been serving for the last 25 years as Shippensburg University Development Coordinator. In his free time, Tim officiates YAIAA boy’s basketball and has also officiated NCAA D2 games.

Julie Ramsey Emrhein

Julie was a three-sport athlete at Cocalico High School and went on to play field Hockey at Lock Haven College where she received her B.S. degree Summa Cum Laud. And later went on to receive here M.Ed. from the University of Virginia. Julie Worked At Dickinson College as a professional Athletic Trainer, and she has been involved in numerous national; regional; and state committees serving at California University of Pa; Dickinson College; and now at WellSpan Health. She has been a guest speaker both nationally & regionally at athletic trainer Conferences and is activity involved in the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society. Julie had the opportunity to do research with the esteemed Dr. Joseph Torg regarding cervical spine injuries in football and worked at several pre-season camps and spent one entire season with the Washington Redskins. She was the first female Athletic Trainer working in the NFL

James P. Monos

Jim was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and went on to get his degree in social studies from Shippensburg University and then his master’s from Western Maryland College. At Shippensburg High School he lettered in three sports Football, Basketball and Baseball and was inducted into the Shippensburg High School HOF. He was inducted into the Shippensburg University HOF, was an all PSAC player and the first QB to ever complete 100 Pass’s in one season. He was Shippensburg State College NCAA semi-finalist for the Lambert cup at the Division 2 level. He won five PSAC East Championships. Jim has been Asst Basketball Coach, Head Basketball Coach Asst Football Coach for Shippensburg University. He was also the Offensive Coordinator at S/U and Head Football Coach Lebanon Valley College with highest all-time winning record. He was a Mac Conference Coach of the year & AFCA regional Coach of the year with four post season appearances three ECAC & one NCAA.

Paul Richards

Paul was a graduate of E L Myers High School and a four-year District two Swim Champion. He went on to be the all state 400 free style winner in 1970. Received his M.S. from Indiana University of Pa. in Aquatic administration and his from B.S. Bloomsburg State College 1975. He became Assistant Men’s Swim coach at Bloomsburg College 1981-1982; Aquatics Director Men’s & Women’s Swim Coach Hartwick College 1982-1985; Asst. Professor Health & Physical Ed. & Men’s & Women’s Swim Coach Mary Washington college 1985-1994; Received the highest award and certification from the American Alliance for Health on excellence in teaching. Atlantic States Swim Conference Women’s Coach of the year 1988-1989; Capital Atlantic Conference Women’s Coach of the year 1991-1992; Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Coach of the year 1991-1992-1993; Career Won/loss record 495-317; Student Excellence Award Dickinson College 2019.

Susan Fumagalli Mahoney

Susan has been a driving force behind the Gettysburg Athletic Department pursuit of excellence in a national scale. After serving six years as Assistant Director of Athletics, Susan Fumagalli was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 20210 and Senior Associate of Athletics in 2018. She also serves as Director of Athletic Operations (Recruiting) Canter.

Susan’s Accomplishments include serving the NCAA Woman’s Lacrosse National Committee, 2008-2012 including as chairperson in 2011-2012. She served on the board of the Collegiate Woman’s Lacrosse Officiating Association.as the NCAA Division III administrative representative and she was named Vice-President of the executive board in 2014. Susan was given the Lester Jordan Award by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She is a member of the Academic All-American  Committee since 1995 serving as national coordinator from 1999-2008 and recently the Vice-Chair, Awards.Presently Susan is a member of the CoSIDA and the National Association of Collegiate women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA)

Former Treasurer Jack Roddick has asked to be released of his previous duties as Secretary/Treasurer as he is dealing will some Medical issues.

Chapter President Dave Eavenson and the Executive Committee have decided to take this year to work on a reorganization of the Chapter and make changes and improvements for the future. As part of that change, the induction Banquet of 2017 will be moved into the first quarter of next year with date and location to be announced later this year. New applications for inductions will be received into the fall of this year. Also the previous annual dinner and awarding of Scholarship funds to local High School Students will be moved to next year on a date that works better for the Schools and the student. Additionally, we are applying to become a qualified 501 C-3 Non-profit organization.
